RESEARCH & SOURCES

The Lambdoma has been explored across disciplines including music theory, harmonic research, mathematics, and philosophy.

Historical references trace the concept back to the Pythagorean tradition, where numerical ratios were understood as the foundation of musical intervals.

In the modern era, researchers such as Albert von Thimus and Hans Kayser investigated the Lambdoma as a framework for understanding relationships between number, sound, and natural form.

Contemporary explorations include the work of Barbara Hero, who translated the matrix into audible frequency systems, and ongoing artistic interpretations such as the sculptural realization by Josef Baier.
